Do I need to get a separate phone line for the Virtual Receptionist?
No, you do not need to get a separate phone line for a
Virtual Receptionist. When you signup for the
Virtual Receptionist, you will be provided a phone number, which you may use as your business phone number. However if you already have an advertised business number, and you would like to integrate with
Virtual Receptionist, you may do so by forwarding your business phone line to the number you will be receiving when you sign up for the
Virtual Receptionist.
Do I need additional hardware or software for Virtual Receptionist to work?
How do the extension numbers in Virtual Receptionist work?
When you setup
Virtual Receptionist, you may setup an extension number to be forwarded to another phone number anywhere in US or Canada, or you may set it up to go to the voice mail directly. For an instance when customer wants to contact 'Customer support' you may set it up so, it will ring a person in Ottawa, or someone in Toronto, or go to a company's voicemail.
Are there any hidden charges for using the free services of VSMSMail?
None. These services are completely free. And there are no contracts to sign either.
Do I need a credit card to signup for an account?
Only if you are signing up for the paid services.
How does VSMSMail pay for the services if you aren't charging the customers?
At VSMSMail, we are experimenting with new ideas and technologies all the time. Group voice messaging is one of the ideas that emerged from an R&D project. As a result we currently have the infrastructure to handle users without requiring additional resources. Hence we are able to provide this service free of charge.
Are the services available for landline?
The services are available for landline as well as for mobile phones.
Are there any technical limitations on the type of mobile phones for these services?
The services will work with any mobile phones or landline independent of the phone carrier. However some features are not supported on old mobile phones (ie: 1G mobile phones and 2G mobile phones).
Do I need to be a member to use the services?
You need to be a member to send voicemail, however anyone can receive voicemails on their phone.
I currently do not have the text messaging (SMS) feature on my phone. Will this matter?
If the text messaging (SMS) feature is not available on a particular line, our system will not utilize that service. You should still be able to use the rest of the system features. You can also recieve notifications via email.
Will this service work with all phone carriers?
The majority of the features within our system have been tested successfully for Rogers/Fido, Telus and Bell Mobility. We will continue to test as we add new features.
What are the coverage areas for VSMSMail services?
The services are currently available for southern Ontario. We are in the beginning stages of rolling out our services throughout the rest of Canada. Check back often for updates.
Are there any caps on the number of voicemails I can maintain?
There are no restrictions on the number of messages. Unlike your mobile service carrier, we do not have any limits!!!
